Reviews for Generacion Dead / Generation Dead

Booklist Reviews 2010 November #1
Spanish speakers in search of fast action, zombies, corpses, discapacitados vitales (the living impaired), and other fantastic characters will not be able to resist this novel about a high-school girl with psychic powers. Phoebe, who has never been well liked because of her gothic looks, becomes the unlikely center of class attention when she attracts both the school's football hero and Tommy, the leader of the chicos muertos (dead boys). Ramírez Tello's breezy Spanish rendition with contemporary Spanish expressions (e.g., suena genial) is as ingenious and well written as the English original, which has been a particularly success in Western Europe.
