Reviews for El Mar De Los Trolls/the Sea of Trolls

Criticas Reviews 2006 June
Gr 4-6-Eleven-year-old Jack and his sister Lucy live a simple farm life until the boy is asked to be apprentice to the bard in his medieval Saxon village. From the bard Jack learns to create fog to protect the village and to feel the life force around him. He is just learning his powers when the village is attacked by Northmen. Jack and Lucy are captured and sent to meet Olaf One-Brow and his queen Frith. When Jack is forced to complete a dangerous quest across the Sea of Trolls in order to save Lucy, the real adventures begin. Along the way he encounters some unlikely friends and dangerous enemies. Farmer brings the world of the Vikings to vivid life and fills it with both malicious and likable characters. The Spanish text is even and straightforward, and none of the excitement of the original gets lost in the translation.
