Reviews for Third Man

Library Journal Reviews 2007 July #1

Light and shadow have seldom been used to greater effect than in director Carol Reed's film noir of Graham Greene's script about a writer (Joseph Cotten) who finds out the truth about his old friend (Orson Welles), a black marketeer in postwar Vienna. This double-disc version of a previous single-disc release features an improved picture and cleaner audio (the signature zither music sounds even better), plus over a dozen extras. An essential title; any old copies should be replaced.
