Reviews for Marked

AudioFile Reviews 2009 February/March
Edwina Wren's tone, pace, and youthful voice provide an energetic performance that balances a first-person teenage point of view with a stereotypical cast of school personas. Wren captures the emotional range of Zoey Redbird as she undergoes transformation into a vampire. Wren also executes distinct voices for Zoey's growing assortment of odd friends. Redbird's dull and stifling life takes an entirely new direction after she's branded with "the mark." Escaping a cheating boyfriend and an intolerant stepfather, she finds herself at the vampire finishing school (high school for vampires) with high hopes of something better. However, matriculating is the easy part. Next, Redbird must deal with a whole other class of peer pressure and scheming--which prove deadly. L.E. (c) AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine
