Reviews for On Pins and Needles
Booklist Reviews 2013 September #1
Zoey is back and still sewing and blogging in the second book in this upbeat series. Her blog is gaining readership, and she is designing and wearing her own creations--but not all is going swimmingly. A misunderstanding with her oldest friend and an amateur design contest consume Zoey's time and attention, and trying to talk about why there was the problem with her oldest friend leads to a rift with her newest friend. When she comes to the conclusion that she has to patch her friendships in the same way she patches her torn jeans, determined and creative Zoey reweaves both friendships and makes them stronger. Horn Book Guide Reviews 2014 Spring
Twelve-year-old Zoey, fashion designer and blogger, is excited to enter a design contest and works hard to meet the deadline while also coping with friendship trouble (Pins). Zoey creates outfits for Spirit Week, but mean comments on her blog worry her (Stitches). These upbeat installments continue the nice emphasis on friendship, ambition, and creativity. Black-and-white garment sketches open each chapter. [Review covers these Sew Zoey titles: On Pins and Needles and Stitches and Stones.]
