Reviews for Last to Die

AudioFile Reviews 2012 December
Friends and crime-fighting partners Detective Jane Rizzoli and Medical Examiner Dr. Maura Isles--the same characters as the ones in the TBS show--slowly connect three seemingly unrelated cases involving children who have a common bond: They're sole survivors of family tragedies. Tess Gerritsen's story moves at a decent clip as the hard-nosed Rizzoli follows the trail in and out of Evensong, a special boarding school. Narrator Tanya Eby is adequate with the voices for the men, and she excels with the children, who are key elements of this story. She does a superb job with Rizzoli's Boston accent and moves well between Rizzoli's family and the Evensong students, who come from different areas and backgrounds. A well-paced mystery that leaves you waiting for the duo's next chapter. M.B. © AudioFile 2012, Portland, Maine
