Reviews for Spacebusters : The Race to the Moon
Library Talk Reviews 1998 November
Using a clear and informative text, this book presents the first lunar landing in a format that will appeal to kids with an interest in space and adventure. It conveys both the excitement of the astronauts and the many dangers that they faced. A colorful combination of photographs and drawings helps bring the story to life while sidebar text and diagrams provide extra information to capture the reader's interest. New vocabulary is defined both within the text and in the glossary. Pronunciation guides are provided for more complicated words. While the text is more appropriate for confident, independent readers, the illustrations will attract children at a variety of reading levels. This book would be a valuable addition to most elementary school or children's libraries. Highly Recommended. Ashley W.
