Reviews for Circulatory System

Library Media Connection Reviews 2009 August/September
This series provides a high-quality overview of the body?s systems in an easily understood format. The authors do an excellent job of breaking complex information into comprehensible segments. Almost every page features either a color picture or illustration, which enhances and clarifies the information. In addition to being found in the glossary, medical terms are well-defined within the text. Titles begin by defining and describing the system, its major organs, and their function in relation to the rest of the human body. Symptoms and treatments of that system?s more common conditions and abnormalities, ranging from minor to serious, are briefly described. The final chapter provides guidelines on how to keep that particular system healthy. These titles are a worthy, student-friendly introduction to the systems of the human body. The illustrations and basic language make these books a good choice for students beginning to research the topic. Students requiring in-depth information will need to consult additional sources.
