The predictable tale boasts short, easy-to-follow sentences and familiar characters that will make the young detective's fans feel right at home. Nate takes on a double case here, as he tries to find a missing Valentine and the identity of the sender of a heartfelt message to his dog. Readers will love trying to solve Nate's cases but will be pleasantly fooled by the ``mushy'' ending.
